This cherry was given to me in 2017, from a garden in Stithians, Cornwall. The wood has deep warm tones and a silky smooth finish. The cracks in this piece were present when turning - after drying and seasoning the wood, they may move a little with seasonal atmospheric moisture, adding to the character of the piece!
The Pelyow is the Cornish word for Orb or Sphere. I to explore wood in this form. For both its tactile and aesthetic qualities, showing off the natural beauty of the grain, the woods imperfections and shapes, while inviting touch and feel.
