Hand turned live edge Wooden bowl. This Dufflin Apple wood came from a local orchard in Cornwall. A relatively rare and unusual Cornish apple species, prized for its sweet cider apples. The orchard owner donated me this timber a while ago when the tree sadly had tot be felled due to it becoming diseased. The huge trunk was heavily spalted due to the damp conditions it was stored in before I took the wood and started carefully drying and preparing for turning. The resulting patterns and details in the wood are absolutley stunning and add to the character of the bowl beautifully.
