Wellingtonia is a type of giant redwood (Giant Sequoia) that grows here in the uk after it was popularly Imported many years ago. This particular piece came from my local sawmills who in turn sourced it from a tree that grew in one of Royal Gardens!
While it is a very soft and light wood with a very pine like grain pattern, it’s colours are remarkable. Bright pink heartwood with completely contrasting yellow/white sapwood.
